Promises to the Heart

I’m shipping my heart to heaven. It has loved for the last time / Filled with sorrow, my heart was heavy. So much so, it weighed on my mind / My heart told me that love wasn’t working. It was too broke, we couldn’t afford it.

Then my heart was halfway out of the door / Said it couldn’t take anymore / Without my heart, I couldn’t survive / So I made it a promise, a compromise

No more love; no more love / It isn’t safe, so I’m giving it up / No more love; we ain’t in touch / He ain’t calling no way; he gave me up
